Despite having a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Management Consulting, Monique is a regular on the Vancouver comedy scene. She had her start in comedy as an improviser but wanted to have the spotlight all to herself as she doesn’t play well with others. For those that like their comedy with an edge, Monique’s stand-up is a wonderful paradox of incisive sarcasm delivered in a cute, sweet way. Helps explain why her mother called her Demon-ique as a child. Although Monique is Métis, most of her stand-up comedy isn’t necessarily about being Aboriginal...it’s about her experiences, observations and what makes her laugh. Appearances can be deceiving and this is certainly the case with Monique. She loves to challenge the status quo. Monique says the kinds of things people think but would never admit to and definitely would not expect to hear from a woman. Monique has been featured in The Globe & Mail and can be seen on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) as a fitness expert. She has contributed to Chatelaine Magazine and IDEA Fitness Journal. Aside from stand-up comedy, Monique is an experienced public speaker, facilitator and educator. Seems she can't get enough of being in front of people and telling them what to do! Monique is Métis.
